MIKE. Rhythm Guitar

My first music experience was playing the tea chest bass at the primary school leaving party.

I toyed with building an organ in my teens but the thought of building 50 individual oscillators was too much, anyway I couldn't afford the actual keyboard let alone the electronics.

The flower power/prog rock years had me listening to Cream, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and The Who and paying for my Norton Commando motorbike. Life then intervened until I retired at 60.

Then, with nothing stopping me except myself, a friend bought me a cheap guitar which led me to taking lessons and building my own guitars from scratch (4 and counting).I also joined the Blue Moon Harmony Choir to better understand singing. A conversation with Martin led me to start up a band under the auspices of the U3A and MU3AC was born.

I have also tried my hand at songwriting and two songs, with a lot of help from Keith with the arrangement, are now part of the band's repertoire.

I still have a lot to learn and MU3AC has given me the opportunity to play and learn from other like-minded musicians.
